Mr. Tan ’s notes are way more consolidated & more to-the-point. they also help me reorganize concepts & see how they relate, unlike school notes which make all topics seem detached & unrelated, making it hard for me to make connections. My friend who was Mr. Tan’s former student actually recommended him to me, seeing that I was really struggling with H2 chem. In school, teaching is so fast-paced and a lot of self-learning and understanding is expected. I started having lessons with Mr. Tan in the first year of my JC journey. I was not doing well for chem in school and decided to seek help from Mr. Tan as I heard of him from my friends who had significant improvements since being with him. He gave out really concise notes and many question packs for us to practice so that we would have a clear and deep understanding of each topic. When we have questions, he was also really patient in answering them making us comfortable in confiding with him. I want to thank him for helping me find my passion for chemistry which lead me to do well in A levels.

I got to know Mr. Tan after my Senior in school introduced him to me. I joined his class as soon as H2 chemistry began in school in JC1, as it was the subject I was the most uncertain about. Mr. Tan teaches in a patient and steady manner. Throughout my JC journey, I've had many different tuitions, and I can safely say Mr. Tan is the one who teaches in the most tireless and consistent manner. Before attending Mr. Tan's class, I was very uncertain and worried about H2 Chemistry, as I consistently failed Chemistry during Secondary school. However, Mr. Tan was able to impart more chemistry knowledge to me through his lessons than what my school could in 6 whole years (my school is IP). Chemistry quickly changed from my weakest subject to the one I'm most confident and consistent in. I'm certain many other students taking up H2 Chemistry will be able to better master and appreciate the subject under the guidance of Mr. Tan. Thank you, Mr. Tan, it's really been a journey with you, being one of the earliest DHS students. I know Mr. Julian from a friend of mine. Mr. Julian is a very patient and detailed teacher, who put so much time and work into teaching chemistry. I was weak in my concepts and techniques to approach the questions, then he stayed back with me after lessons and taught me closely and answer all my questions patiently. Mr Tan’s notes are more comprehensive than school lecture notes and it often emphasizes on small but important details that schools often miss out, which are crucial in establishing a stronger foundation. He is a dedicated teacher who does not hesitate to go over time to ensure that we squeeze the most out of every lesson available. I came to know of Mr. Tan through my classmates who, too, were attending his chemistry lessons. At that point in time, I was stuck between dropping chemistry to a H1 or bucking up on my chemistry. my friends then introduced me to Mr. Tan, saying how their chemistry grades managed to improve tremendously after joining his lessons (and I, too, could see for myself their vast improvements over the exams) and hence I decided to give Chemistry a last shot. I'm glad that I persevered through the H2 syllabus and even managed to develop a keen interest in chemistry not only as an examinable subject but as an area of interest, and it’s all thanks to Mr Tan for having reignited my interest in chemistry after countless failed Chemistry tests and exams. I found out about Mr Julian Tan from my sister. He lectures and moves between notes and the question pack that he gives out in between teaching the topic so that we could apply what we've learnt to questions. He teaches us how to approach different questions so that we can do the same during examinations which is really beneficial and helpful. He provides useful tips for us so that we can remember the information more easily. He is very dedicated to teaching his students and really wants his students to do well. He always stays back after class to answer questions. He is very approachable and has helped me through questions when I did not know how to do them.

I got to know of Mr Tan through my friend and went to him in June of the year of my A Levels. I really like Mr Tan's teaching style as he goes through the key concepts first and goes through question packs and provides us with common concept gaps and default lists which are extremely helpful study tips just before the exam. Mr Tan has been extremely helpful caring and dedicated and helped me with questions after lessons and through whatsapp anytime I needed help, allowing me to move on during revision and not stay stuck at a particular question or topic.
